BYD: The world’s first cross-sea cloud track officially rolled off the assembly line

On April 12, BYD Rail Transit announced that the Bahia cloud rail vehicle has rolled off the assembly line in Shenzhen. The Bahia Cloud Rail, which was launched this time, is the world’s first cross-sea cloud rail vehicle, and BYD has also become the first private enterprise in China to go overseas in the field of rail transit equipment.

The media has learned that the Bahia cloud rail vehicle is the first overseas version of the cloud rail vehicle to be rolled off the assembly line in the world. The vehicle adopts a streamlined design, which has both design aesthetics and reduced wind resistance; large-sized doors, with barrier-free entry and exit design, can travel comfortably whether walking, riding in a wheelchair, or pushing a stroller; the connection between the carriages is unobstructed, with good permeability, and the side is equipped with Large windows, good views; the use of air spring suspension system ensures that the vehicle runs quietly and smoothly.

According to reports, the vehicle adopts a streamlined design, which has both design aesthetics and reduced wind resistance; large-sized doors, with barrier-free entry and exit design, can travel comfortably whether walking, sitting in a wheelchair, or pushing a stroller;

The connection between the carriages is unobstructed and the permeability is good. The side is equipped with large windows, and the landscape is good; the air spring suspension system ensures the quiet and stable driving of the vehicle.

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a leading fully automatic driverless system and an intelligent passenger service system to achieve a high degree of train automation, which can provide more precise operation control, higher reliability, and better safety in accordance with the optimal mode, improve operational efficiency, Guarantee punctuality;

At the same time, the on-board PIS, CCTV, emergency intercom and other systems serve passengers in real time to ensure a safe and convenient ride experience. In the later stage, the vehicles can also be flexibly grouped according to the actual capacity demand.

The Bahia cloud rail line has a total length of 23.3 km and a total of 25 stations. After completion, it will be connected with the existing subway in Bahia, forming a public transportation network with complementary urban rail systems and a combination of various transportation volumes.

Cloud Rail is a straddle-type monorail transportation system successfully built by BYD in order to solve the problem of urban traffic congestion.

Low cost, short construction period, the minimum turning radius is only 45 meters, the maximum climbing ability is 10%, the terrain adaptability is extremely strong, and the comprehensive advantages are very prominent. Business districts, tourist areas, etc.

In addition, cloud rail also has more advantages of traditional rail transit, first of all, the cost is lower and cheaper. According to previously released information, the construction cost of the cloud rail is only 1/5 of that of the subway. At the same time, the cloud rail is constructed as a viaduct, with less demolition and a shorter construction period, only 1-2 years, about 1/3 of the subway.

The working principle of the cloud rail is also different from that of traditional rail vehicles. The bottom of the chassis of the cloud rail is a set of rubber wheels, which ride on the monorail track. Because of the existence of the rubber wheels, the cloud rail does not have the noise of traditional rail transportation, and it runs more smoothly. Quiet, which also allows the cloud track to pass through the building.

At the same time, the friction force of the rubber wheel is greater, and the “cloud track” can continuously cope with the track with an elevation angle of 10 degrees, and can climb to a height of 17 meters in a short distance of 100 meters.

However, the application of rubber wheels also has disadvantages. First of all, because of the greater friction, its running speed is often 80km/h, and some subways have already opened the running speed of 120km/h.

At the same time, because the rubber wheel is in contact with the ground, the rubber wheel will inevitably wear out. Therefore, the cloud rail, which belongs to the monorail traffic, must be replaced with the entire set of rubber wheels at intervals.

However, under the application of new technologies, these limitations will also be gradually broken. Moreover, BYD has firmly invested in the research and development of the cloud rail industry, and the systemic advantages of the cloud rail are also being gradually expanded.

Moreover, more importantly, many local governments in China have also launched active cooperation with BYD on the “cloud track”. In the future, we will wait and see what kind of development feats BYD’s cloud track will usher in at home and abroad.

As a representative of China’s “new infrastructure”, BYD Rail Transit frequently goes overseas, bringing Chinese solutions to all parts of the world, and is favored by all countries. Only in Brazil are two consecutive cities. On April 27, 2020, BYD and Brazil’s Sao Paulo Metro Company officially signed the Sao Paulo Metro Line 17 project contract. Up to now, more than 20 countries and cities from the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Africa are actively negotiating rail transit projects with BYD, and projects in some countries are already under construction.
